Personal Information

Dr. Youssef received a doctoral degree in Experimental Social Psychology from Grenoble University (France). Before he joined the Qatar University, he worked at Grenoble University and The French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) as an Assistant Research Engineer and he also taught courses in Research Methods in Psychology, Media Psychology and Social Psychology. Dr. Hasan is primarily interested in the causes, consequences of human aggression and violence. His research has been featured on television (TF2, Télé Grenoble, Qatar Television), on radio (WOSU), in magazines (Forbes magazine), in newspapers (Le Dauphiné Libéré, Fox News). He has presented his experimental results at prestigious international conferences (i.e., Society for Personality and Social Psychology at San Diego, California, USA in 2011, and International Society for Research on Aggression at Luxembourg City, Luxembourg in 2012; at Atlanta City, Georgia in 2014). Dr. Hasan has published in the fields of media effects with a special emphasis on violent video games in high impact international journals.
